In Belgium, all motor vehicles that participate in traffic are required to be insured for civil or civil liability (BA).

That depends on your preferences and your vehicle.There are three types of coverage:

With BA coverage:

You are only insured for damage that you cause to another party. This is mandatory in Belgium!

With mini Omnium coverage:

You are also insured for most damages beyond your control, such as storm damage and theft.

With Omnium insurance:

You are additionally insured for damage to your own car and vandalism.

The Omnium offers the most comprehensive coverage. Naturally, you pay the highest premium for this.

You can also extend your insurance with roadside assistance to ensure support in Belgium or Europe.

Theft is covered by Mini Omnium insurance and extended Omnium insurance.
