The vehicle registration number plate will be cancelled in the RDW-system. A written warning will be sent to the registration holder with a request to indicate where the vehicle is insured. If you do not react to RDW’s request, you will be fined up to € 400 + administration costs. Because you are no longer registered due to unpaid installments, you are listed at The Registry of Non-Paying CIS (Central Information System). This is visible for all insurers and could be a problem when taking out new insurance. Driving a vehicle without valid insurance is illegal and is an offence.
